It's Nguyen here!

So I have had quite a bit of catchup with different directors in the company in the past few days. Here are some of the thoughts I have noted down over the course of these discussion:

  1. With Marketing director: core learning — make the most out of your time here by learning what is the inner thinking of the higher ups.

Important key things: you are in the ICP. Not everyone got to involved in this process + you are given an unprecedented exposure to new information on a strategic level. Make the most out of this by:

a. Asking yourself question — note down leaders question, try answering them by yourself with the data you have available.

b. Try practice asking question — the ultimate goal is eventually being able to setup powerful questions that drive business forward

For marketing functions:

a. Understand the language, the pain-point & translate them to Sales function language

b. There will be wealth of ad-hoc analysis -> try to get involved in them & learn how Brand team ask the question

=> Ultimate goals for you are 2 things: knowing what Brand is & getting some deep-dive into business understanding & mastering the way of translating brand knowledge into working across functions.

2. With GM:

The overall theme is: Time is of your essence, make the most out of it.

A philosophy he made for himself in life is that once you are in your 30s, you should have made something for yourself already. Whether it is a job, a position or a title.

A recurring theme that I have also been experienced from the talk I had in Vietnam, which is also about milestone. Where do you want to be? What is at each stage you know you have completed something.

But do take time, to explore your personality. What might be a good fit for you & the core value you choose to believe in.

Still it is important to find a good mentor, and maybe a dose of luck as well.

3. My own input:

For now, after having the talk with everyone, I realized one thing. It is always coming back to what milestone you want to make & the path you want to go in the long run. But it still matched with my original core: I want to expose myself to as much new experience as possible & make the most out the connections here as possible.

Those are the things I believed will stick with me no matter where I go & in the end will help me grow as a person :)
